I love turkey. I love dressing. (ok only my Aunt Mickie's which is originally my granny's) I love rolls. I love dressing on rolls. Yes that would be bread on bread but is this a crime? Nope. I didn't think so. I love the way for two days out the year my family (wild as they may be) come together, shut their mouths (a miracle in itself), bow their heads and say grace. In fact last year I was in the bathroom when they did it and I was so upset that I missed it I almost asked that they do it again but knew that would be impossible as the ruckus of people trying to get to all the food had already began. You see it's not like there is a table large enough for us all to sit down and make saying grace an official start of the meal. It's kind of like when enough of us have gathered in the kitchen/dining area someone says we better say grace while most of us are in here in one spot.
Anyway....I love the eating and the eating and the eating and did I mention the eating? After the eating....it never fails us women gather in the main dining room with our papers and slobber all over the sale ads and how we wish we were brave enough to pretend that it is fun to get up at 4:30 am to get to the "door buster" by 5:30 the next morning like we did several years back when I witnessed (I SWEAR TO GOD) women nearly crawling over the top of other folks (some were old) to get their greedy little hands on a $99 tv. I stood back in amazement shaking my head....half pissed at them for being so mean and half pissed that they got one of the $99 tv's I was too scared to attempt to get. But I got my payback. At all of 6:15 am I headed to the check-out with two $5 items (neither of which were on my list) and lo and behold a lady came rolling a whole cart of the $99 tv's by from another side of the store. HA HA HA HA I kindly asked if those were availabe and she said yes would you like one? To which I replied "no...I need 2" and she pulled them off the cart and within 5 minutes I was checking out and laughing at the idiots fighting in the back of the store. Shame shame!!
So this year we've all discussed (over the phone) that we are not going to succumb to the craziness but we will indeed head out and see what goodies we can come across without waking before light and without climbing over the heads of other shoppers. Oh and lunch....we have to have a annual day after Thanksgiving mexican food lunch. That's when I'll oh so kindly mention my birthday is just right around the corner (like in exactly one week from then) and then shopping gets fun....for me anyway...they giveth and I receiveth...LOL!! Am I awful or what? That's right....OR WHAT!!! I knew you would see it that way too!
